Do you or a friend have a calling for mission work at home or overseas? The Franciscan Mission Service (FMS) provides Catholic laity an opportunity to serve in solidarity with the economically marginalized around the world. FMS offers two programs that might be of interest to you.
The FMS DC Service Corps program offers young adults (ages 21-35) an opportunity:
to serve in the DC area with non-profit organizations serving those living on the margins,
to grow in their faith,
and to live out their Franciscan values on a daily basis.
For more information please see their flyer.
Since 1990, the FMS Overseas Lay Mission program has supported lay missioners in 20 different countries. Currently they support missioners in Bolivia, Guatemala, and Jamaica. Missioners live in community and serve in solidarity with the economically poor and oppressed communities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
