On May 10, 2025 the St. Anthony of Nagasaki fraternity welcomed members of the Rumi Forum to join them for a tour of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington, D.C. The Rumi Forum has the mission of fostering interfaith and intercultural understanding, and intergroup engagement. After the tour of the Monastery we gathered together for lunch and a discussion especially focused on St. Francis’ Canticle of Brother Sun and how it resonates with the teachings of Rumi a 13th century Sufi mystic. This year the Franciscan family recognizes the 800th anniversary of the Canticle.
